The Canberra Model Railway Club is a not for profit organisation, dedicated to having fun with model railways. We have no particular bias to any scale, however in practice, most of our members model Australian prototype in HO, and this is the basis of our club layout.
We are currently building a new layout and would welcome any experienced modellers or those new to the hobby to help us complete the project, or to contribute to the evolution of the layout as we update it in future years.
Annual Exhibition
CRMCI also runs the annual Canberra Model Railway Expo each year. The 2010 Expo will be held in March, 2010 at the Kaleen High School. The Club President, Ward Gainey, is the Expo Manager and can be contacted on 0419 625451.
Membership
New members are very welcome. Your level of ability will not matter as we are willing to share our knowledge and skills. We also invite you contribute to our knowledge and skills of our great hobby!
Meetings
We meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the hall at the Ukrainian Catholic Church, corner of Dryandra and Archibald streets, Lyneham.
At our meetings, we hear from speakers on modelling related topics plus a Show n' Tell and current Club topics. We also work on or operate the Club layout or have a running night on a member's layout.
There are occasional working bees on weekends plus visits to other Clubs, museums, etc as the Members wish. Please contact us for details of our next meeting.
